Robben Island – absorb some of the fascinating history of South Africa, which has seen so much conflict between its various inhabitants. Starting at the old Castle built by the first Dutch settlers, see the balcony from which Mandela gave his famous “Long Walk to Freedom” speech. Visit the castle and continue through the colourful Bo-Kaap slave quarters to District Six museum, dedicated to thousands cruelly disposed of their homes.
